information about our specific evaluation and testing services.

  • 5. What should I expect during an adult evaluation?

An adult evaluation generally includes completing consent and release forms, completing questionnaires or

surveys, cognitive testing with an office psychometrist, and a clinical interview with the psychologist.

  • 6. What should I expect during a child or adolescent evaluation?

A child or adolescent evaluation generally includes consent and release forms, questionnaires or surveys

completed by the parent/legal guardian and child or adolescent as appropriate, cognitive testing with an

office psychometrist, and a clinical interview with the psychologist involving the parent/legal guardian and

child or adolescent. The current office policy states that adolescents ages 16 and 17 sign for themselves

pursuant to South Carolina Code of Laws Section 63-5-340.

  • 7. Will the interview and cognitive testing be completed on the same day?

Yes. Cognitive testing and the clinical interview are generally completed on the same day as the scheduled

    appointment.

  • 8. How long will the appointment take?

The length of an evaluation depends on the type of appointment and the individual being evaluated.

Manager if you would like more information about the expected length of your appointment.

  • 9. What should I bring to the appointment?

Please bring snacks and water. Depending on the length of the evaluation, a lunch break may be provided, so

  • 10. What should I expect from my psychological report?

The report will generally include clinical diagnoses, clinical recommendations, and referrals for therapy

    and/or medication management when appropriate.

  • 11. May I sit with my child during cognitive testing?

Parents and guardians are generally discouraged from sitting in the testing room during cognitive testing so

that the testing environment can remain as standardized and distraction-free as possible. Please contact

our Office Manager if your child has special circumstances or you have questions about this policy.

  • 12. If my child or adolescent is being evaluated, may I leave and return when testing is finished?

Parents and legal guardians are generally expected to remain available because they may need to complete

questionnaires and participate in a clinical interview on the day of the appointment. Please contact our

Office Manager before the appointment if you have questions or special circumstances.

  • 13. Do you accept walk-in appointments or walk-ins to schedule an appointment?
